Debbie Wilson is the Interim Conductor of the Grand Junction Centennial Band following the retirement of Gary Ambrosier.
After teaching 30 years, Debbie has remained active in her retirement as a music educator, clinician, and adjudicator. She founded and directed an auditioned wind ensemble for young musicians. This band received consistent Superior ratings at large group festivals under her direction. Her teaching career included directing bands at Orchard Mesa and Grand Mesa Middle Schools where her bands received yearly superior ratings. Twelve years of her teaching career was spent in elementary general music.
She is also a clarinetist performing with various ensembles and plays alto saxophone with the Frank Bregar Orchestra. She is a mentor for young band directors through the American School Band Directors Association. Debbie is married and has two daughters.
She received her B.S. in Music Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Masters of Arts in Music Performance at Western State College.
